This course covers both the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Matthew, providing a specifically kingdom lens (hermeneutic) to read these texts, utilizing a narrative criticism technique. Narrative criticism examines the way the author has constructed the whole story. This technique is used to explore and discover the unique features of both Gospels.
The study of these two gospels will enable you to better understand the person of Jesus Christ, his mission and message of the kingdom, his words and works, his sense of personal identity, and the nature of the gospel that he has called us to proclaim.
The Future King is Here: The Theology of Matthew available through Amazon and The Passion of the Kingdom: The Theology of Mark (Kingdom Theology Series) by Derek Morphew provided for free in the course.
