Origins Of The New Testament

Course Description

This course is a textbook study of the origin, collection, copying and canonizing of the New Testament documents. Questions such as: When and where were the New Testament documents written? Who decided – and by what criteria – which documents would be included in the New Testament? and Are there other letters, Gospels and Acts that almost made it into the New Testament but did not will be discussed. This course seeks to answer other discussion topics that are almost always raised such as: How did we get this text? Why are there only twenty-seven books? Why are the books arranged the way they are?
