For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ Acts 17:28

How blessed we are to be in Christ and that we are his daughters. It’s wonderful getting together regularly in one of the various groups we have for women. In our relationship with God, we can run through our days ignoring our need for Him—intentionally or unintentionally, until we find ourselves dry and worn out.

This year we have been going through a study “Questions Women Ask in Private” by H. Norman Wright, and we have covered many different topics including—

Why men and women are different, and their different communication styles. Self-esteem and identity, Self-improvement, stress, Sex, intimacy and romance, Unfaithfulness in marriage, How to save your marriage, Spiritual issues and healing, Being single.

Some topics to come are –

Dealing with parents and aging parents, Co-dependency within the Family, Dysfunctional Families, Grieving a loss, Parenting issues, Blended Families, and more.

It has been a wonderful time of learning, not just for our own personal lives, but also learning how to use this information to connect with our work colleagues, neighbours and extended family.

The same study is run at 3 different times each fortnight—

• 10.30am Tuesdays for mums of babies and toddlers.
• 1.00pm Tuesdays for ladies that are home through the day
• 7.30pm Wednesdays for ladies who work office hours.

Also-

• 10.00am Wednesdays at we have a ladies group working through “Healing through Deliverance” by Peter Horrobin.

Once a term we have a ladies evening, usually 70 ladies attending. We have had varied guest speakers from skin care and skin cancer prevention, the local butcher, Christian naturopathy.

As well as these groups, ladies are welcome to join the prayer meetings and other specialty groups.
We need intimate contact with God. Our souls were made for this. When we deprive our souls of that very life force, we can survive—but that is all we are doing. We were not created to merely survive but to thrive in God. We are to be walking and living in Christ, being all that He has created us to be, fulfilling our call of being His daughter.

You are very welcome to come and join us, as a mature woman of Christ, or as a woman who is seeking to fill the missing part of her life.

Rejoice in knowing that you are so dearly loved by your heavenly Father, and I look forward to meeting you,

Debbie Norman
